The Lake Ethel outlet narrows a lot under a bridge.
I fished near the south end of Lake Ethel before I left.
An adult damsel produced no interest.
There was a hatch the night before of #14 black caddis.
A #12 black caddis with an olive caddis nymph brought a serious
hit from a 15" cutthroat that came out of the water about 2 feet
and then proceeded to take me deep in to some rocks. I pulled too hard
trying to keep it out of the rocks an broke everything off.
Setting up new flies had this 19" cutthroat hit and pull a lot of line out
until I could see how large it was after a minute or so of keeping
the line tight.
An ultralight net ensured that I did not lose it.
Next cast had me hooked in to another one just under 19".
