Floor joist chaos.
Order out of chaos.
It was somewhere near this point in time that I came to appreciate just how
much lumber a house can consume. It was a very humbling experience. I had planned
on using local lumber that used ot be available from a family owned mill a few miles
up the road. By the time I had gotten this far, the mill had gone out of business do
to a lack of available raw timber. A larger commercial lumber company put many small
mills out of business during the 1990s.
Undoing two joists to make a stair well hole that we forgot about.
